The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 And the night when it departs, 17 And the breath of morning 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 Where then are you going? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
