The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 And when the stars fall, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 and the night that falls, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
