Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky breaks apart 1 And when the stars become dispersed, 2 the oceans are merged together, 3 When the graves are overturned, 4 the soul shall know what it has done, the former and the latter. 5 Human being, what evil has deceived you about your Gracious Lord, 6 Who created you then formed your symmetry, then gave you right proportion, 7 Into whatever form He pleased He constituted you. 8 Nay! But ye do reject Right and Judgment! 9 Verify there are for you guardians, 10 Kiraman (honourable) Katibin writing down (your deeds). 11 Who know what you do. 12 Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure, 13 And most surely the wicked are in burning fire, 14 Roasted they shall be therein on the Day of Requital. 15 And will not be removed from it. 16 How can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 17 Again, what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 18 On that day, no soul will be of any benefit to any other soul. On that day, all affairs will be in the hands of God. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
