Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the sky breaks apart 1 the stars are dispersed, 2 And when the seas are made to flow forth, 3 and when the graves are overturned 4 the soul shall know what it has done, the former and the latter. 5 O man! What hath made thee careless concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, 6 Who created you then formed your symmetry, then gave you right proportion, 7 In whatever form He willed has He assembled you. 8 Nay, [O men,] but you [are lured away from God whenever you are tempted to] give the lie to [God's] Judgment! 9 Surely, there are guardians watching over you, 10 Illustrious scribes 11 Knowing all what you may do. 12 Most surely the righteous are in bliss, 13 And indeed the sinners are in hell. 14 which they shall enter on the Day of Judgement, 15 and then shall never come out of it. 16 And what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is? 17 Again, what do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. 19
