Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Sky is cleft asunder; 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 when the oceans are gushed forth, 3 And the sepulchres are overturned, 4 Each soul shall know that which it sent afore and that which it left behind. 5 O man! What has made you careless concerning your Lord, the Most Generous? 6 Who created thee, then fashioned, then proportioned thee? 7 Shaping you into any form He pleased? 8 Nay! but you give the lie to the judgment day, 9 Lo! there are above you guardians, 10 Honourablel scribes. 11 Who know (all) that ye do. 12 Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. 13 and the evil-doers will be in hell 14 roasting in it on the Day of Recompense 15 And thence they shall not be allowed to be absent. 16 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Doom? 17 Again, what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 18 It will be a Day when no human being shall be of the least avail to any other human being, God [alone] will hold command on that Day. 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
