Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder, 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 When the Oceans are suffered to burst forth; 3 When the graves are overturned, 4 (Then) a person will know what he has sent forward and (what he has) left behind (of good or bad deeds). 5 O man! What has seduced thee from thy Lord Most Beneficent?- 6 Who created you proportionately and fashioned you 7 Shaping you into any form He pleased? 8 By no means! Aye, ye belie the Requital. 9 but you should know that there are angelic guards 10 noble scribes, 11 who know of all that you do. 12 The virtuous ones will live in bliss 13 and the libertines shall be in a fiery furnace 14 They will burn therein on the Day of Judgment, 15 and which they shall not [be able to] evade. 16 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Doom? 17 Again: what will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? 18 (It will be) the Day when no person shall have power (to do) anything for another, and the Decision, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah. 19
