Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is cleft asunder; 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 when the seas are made to burst forth, 3 when the tombs are overthrown, 4 the soul shall know what it has done, the former and the latter. 5 O man! what hath beguiled thee concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, 6 Who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you? 7 having put thee together in whatever form He willed [thee to have]? 8 Nay, [O men,] but you [are lured away from God whenever you are tempted to] give the lie to [God's] Judgment! 9 But verily, over you (are appointed angels in charge of mankind) to watch you. 10 Honourablel scribes. 11 who know all that you do: 12 Verily, the Abrar (pious and righteous) will be in delight (Paradise); 13 And verily the ungodly shall be in a Scorch. 14 Which they will enter on the Day of Judgment, 15 And will not be absent thence. 16 And what could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 17 How then can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 18 A day on which no soul hath power at all for any (other) soul. The (absolute) command on that day is Allah's. 19
