Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the heaven becomes cleft asunder, 1 And when the stars have fallen and scattered; 2 And when the oceans are swept away. 3 when the tombs are overthrown, 4 Each soul will know what it had sent ahead and what it had left behind. 5 O man! what hath beguiled thee concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, 6 Who created thee, then moulded thee, then proportioned thee? 7 In whatever form He willed has He assembled you. 8 Nay! but you give the lie to the judgment day, 9 Lo! there are above you guardians, 10 noble scribes 11 who know whatever you do. 12 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 13 And most surely the wicked are in burning fire, 14 Which they will enter on the Day of Judgment, 15 nor shall they ever be absent from it. 16 And what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! 17 And once again: What could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 18 It is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allah. 19
