Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is split, 1 when the planets are scattered, 2 When the Oceans are suffered to burst forth; 3 And when the [contents of] graves are scattered, 4 then everyone will know what he has sent ahead, and what he has left behind. 5 O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous, 6 Who created you, shaped you, and made you well-proportioned, 7 Into whatsoever form He will, He casteth thee. 8 Despite this, you deny the Day of Judgment, 9 Surely, there are guardians watching over you, 10 noble recorders, 11 who know of all that you do. 12 Behold, [in the life to come] the truly virtuous: will indeed be in bliss, 13 But the wicked, indeed they shall be in the Fiery Furnace, 14 They will [enter to] burn therein on the Day of Recompense, 15 And they (Al-Fujjar) will not be absent therefrom (i.e. will not go out from the Hell). 16 How can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 17 Again, what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! 18 A day on which no soul hath power at all for any (other) soul. The (absolute) command on that day is Allah's. 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
