Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is cleft asunder; 1 And when the stars become dispersed, 2 and when the seas burst beyond their bounds, 3 and when the graves are overturned 4 A soul will [then] know what it has put forth and kept back. 5 O man! What is it that lures you away from your bountiful Sustainer, 6 Who created thee, then fashioned, then proportioned thee? 7 He moulded you into whatever shape He willed. 8 Nay, but ye deny the Judgment. 9 yet there are over you watchers 10 Illustrious scribes 11 and these honorable scribes know whatever you do. 12 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 13 And the Wicked - they will be in the Fire, 14 They will burn therein on the Day of Judgment, 15 to burn therein. 16 They will never be able to escape from it. Would that you knew what the Day of Judgment is! 17 Again, what could let you know what the Day of Recompense is! 18 It will be a Day when no human being shall be of the least avail to any other human being, God [alone] will hold command on that Day. 19
