Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 And when the stars shall be scattered, 2 And when the seas are flowed out, 3 When the graves are overturned, 4 Each soul will know what it had sent ahead and what it had left behind. 5 O man! What has deceived you about your generous Lord 6 who created thee and shaped thee and wrought thee in symmetry 7 In whatsoever form He listed He constructed thee. 8 No indeed; but you cry lies to the Doom; 9 Yet over you there are watchers, 10 watching over you 11 Who know what you do. 12 Surely the virtuous shall be in Bliss, 13 and the wicked shall be in the Blazing Fire. 14 which they will enter on the Day of Judgment 15 and from which they will find no escape. 16 And what will make you realize what the day of judgment is? 17 Again, what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is? 18 It will be a Day when no human being shall be of the least avail to any other human being, God [alone] will hold command on that Day. 19
