Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When heaven is split open, 1 And when the stars fall, scattering, 2 And when the seas are burst forth (got dried up); 3 When the graves are overturned, 4 A soul will [then] know what it has put forth and kept back. 5 O MAN! What is it that lures thee away from thy bountiful Sustainer, 6 who created you, formed you and proportioned you? 7 In whatever form He willed, He put you together. 8 Nay! but you give the lie to the judgment day, 9 But verily over you (are appointed angels) to protect you,- 10 Kind and honourable,- Writing down (your deeds): 11 They know all that you do. 12 The virtuous ones will live in bliss 13 and the evil-doers will be in hell 14 roasting therein on the Day of Doom, 15 And they (Al-Fujjar) will not be absent therefrom (i.e. will not go out from the Hell). 16 And what will make you realize what the day of judgment is? 17 Then, what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense? 18 It is the Day when no soul can do a thing for another soul. That Day, the command belongs to Allah. 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
