Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky breaks apart 1 When the Stars are scattered; 2 when the seas swarm over, 3 And the sepulchres are overturned, 4 the soul shall know what it has done, the former and the latter. 5 O MAN! What is it that lures thee away from thy bountiful Sustainer, 6 who created you, formed you and proportioned you? 7 In whatever form He willed has He assembled you. 8 No! But you deny the Recompense. 9 And most surely there are keepers over you 10 watching over you 11 They know whatever you do. 12 Verily the pious shall be in Delight. 13 and the wicked shall be in the Blazing Fire. 14 In which they will enter, and taste its burning flame on the Day of Recompense, 15 And never therefrom will they be absent. 16 What could let you know what the Day of Recompense is! 17 Again, what shall teach thee what is the Day of Doom? 18 (It will be) the Day when no person shall have power (to do) anything for another, and the Decision, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
