Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven becomes cleft asunder, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 And when the seas are made to flow forth, 3 And when the graves are ransacked, 4 A soul will [then] know what it has put forth and kept back. 5 O man! What hath made thee careless concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, 6 who created you, formed you and proportioned you? 7 having put thee together in whatever form He willed [thee to have]? 8 Yet you deny the Last Judgement. 9 Surely there are guardians over you, 10 The honourable recorders. 11 who know what you do. 12 the virtuous will dwell in bliss, 13 And verily, the Fujjar (the wicked, disbelievers, sinners and evil-doers) will be in the blazing Fire (Hell), 14 Roasted they shall be therein on the Day of Requital. 15 And they (Al-Fujjar) will not be absent therefrom (i.e. will not go out from the Hell). 16 How can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 17 How then can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 18 (It will be) the Day when no soul shall have power (to do) aught for another: For the command, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah. 19
