Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is cleft asunder; 1 when the planets are scattered, 2 And when the seas are burst forth (got dried up); 3 And when the graves are turned upside down (and they bring out their contents) 4 Every soul will come to know what it has sent ahead and what it left behind. 5 O human! What has deceived you concerning your Generous Lord 6 Who created you, then made you complete, then made you symmetrical? 7 In whatever form He willed, He put you together. 8 Nay, [O men,] but you [are lured away from God whenever you are tempted to] give the lie to [God's] Judgment! 9 Surely, there are guardians watching over you, 10 Illustrious scribes 11 and these honorable scribes know whatever you do. 12 Surely the virtuous shall be in Bliss, 13 And verily, the Fujjar (the wicked, disbelievers, sinners and evil-doers) will be in the blazing Fire (Hell), 14 [a fire] which they shall enter on Judgment Day, 15 And will not be removed from it. 16 And what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 17 Again, what will make you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 It is the Day when no soul can do a thing for another soul. That Day, the command belongs to Allah. 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
