Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is cleft asunder; 1 the stars are dispersed, 2 When the oceans begin to flow, 3 and when graves are laid open, 4 A soul will [then] know what it has put forth and kept back. 5 O man, what seduced you from your munificent Lord 6 Who created you proportionately and fashioned you 7 He moulded you into whatever shape He willed. 8 Nay, but ye deny the Judgment. 9 But verily over you (are appointed angels) to protect you,- 10 Kiraman (honourable) Katibin writing down (your deeds). 11 They know what you do. 12 Most surely the righteous are in bliss, 13 And indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire. 14 [a fire] which they shall enter on Judgment Day, 15 And they will not be able to keep away therefrom. 16 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is! 17 Again, what will make you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 A day on which no soul hath power at all for any (other) soul. The (absolute) command on that day is Allah's. 19
