Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the heaven shall be cleft, 1 when the planets are scattered, 2 when the seas are made to burst forth, 3 And the sepulchres are overturned, 4 Each soul shall know that which it sent afore and that which it left behind. 5 O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous, 6 Who created you, fashioned you perfectly, and gave you due proportion; 7 In whatever form He willed has He assembled you. 8 No indeed; but you cry lies to the Doom; 9 Surely there are guardians over you, 10 noble scribes 11 They know (and understand) all that ye do. 12 Lo! the righteous verily will be in delight. 13 And most surely the wicked are in burning fire, 14 [a fire] which they shall enter on Judgment Day, 15 And will not be absent thence. 16 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is! 17 Then, what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense? 18 It is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allah. 19

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
