Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven becomes cleft asunder, 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 And when the seas are burst forth (got dried up); 3 And when the graves are overturned. 4 Each soul shall know that which it sent afore and that which it left behind. 5 O MAN! What is it that lures thee away from thy bountiful Sustainer, 6 Who created you then formed your symmetry, then gave you right proportion, 7 In whatever form He willed, He put you together. 8 No! But you deny the Recompense. 9 Yet over you there are watchers, 10 Honorable recorders, 11 who know what you do. 12 As for the Righteous, they will be in bliss; 13 and the libertines shall be in a fiery furnace 14 They will enter it on the Day of Justice. 15 And they will not be able to keep away therefrom. 16 And what will make you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 Again, what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 18 It is a Day whereon no soul shall own aught of power for any soul; and the command on that Day will be Allah's. 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
