Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is cleft asunder; 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 and when the seas burst beyond their bounds, 3 And when the graves are overturned. 4 Each soul shall know that which it sent afore and that which it left behind. 5 O man! What is it that lures you away from your bountiful Sustainer, 6 who created you, formed you and proportioned you? 7 Into whatsoever form He will, He casteth thee. 8 Even then you deny the Judgement. 9 but you should know that there are angelic guards 10 The honourable recorders. 11 aware of whatever you do! 12 Verily the pious shall be in Delight. 13 and the libertines shall be in a fiery furnace 14 roasting in it on the Day of Recompense 15 And will not be able to hide from it. 16 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is! 17 Again, what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is? 18 (It will be) the Day when no person shall have power (to do) anything for another, and the Decision, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah. 19
