Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When heaven is split open, 1 And the stars dispersed, 2 And when the seas are flowed out, 3 When the graves are overturned, 4 every human being will [at last] comprehend, what he has sent ahead and what he has held back [in this world]. 5 O MAN! What is it that lures thee away from thy bountiful Sustainer, 6 who created thee and shaped thee and wrought thee in symmetry 7 Shaping you into any form He pleased? 8 By no means! Aye, ye belie the Requital. 9 And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers, 10 The honourable recorders. 11 Knowing all what you may do. 12 Verily the pious shall be in Delight. 13 But the wicked, indeed they shall be in the Fiery Furnace, 14 which they shall enter on the Day of Judgement, 15 And will not be removed from it. 16 What will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? 17 Again, what will make you realize what the day of judgment is? 18 On that day, no soul will be of any benefit to any other soul. On that day, all affairs will be in the hands of God. 19
