Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder, 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 and when the seas burst beyond their bounds, 3 And when the graves are overturned. 4 (Then) shall each soul know what it hath sent forward and (what it hath) kept back. 5 O man! What hath made thee careless concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, 6 Who created you proportionately and fashioned you 7 Shaping you into any form He pleased? 8 Not at all – but rather you deny the establishment of Justice. 9 And yet, verily, there are ever-watchful forces over you, 10 noble, recording, 11 who know of all that you do. 12 Surely the virtuous shall be in Bliss, 13 And verily, the Fujjar (the wicked, disbelievers, sinners and evil-doers) will be in the blazing Fire (Hell), 14 roasting therein on the Day of Doom, 15 And will not be removed from it. 16 And what will make you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 Again, what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! 18 It is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allah. 19
