Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder, 1 and when the stars are scattered; 2 And when the seas are made to flow forth, 3 And when the graves are laid open, 4 Every soul shall know what it has sent before and held back. 5 O man! What has deceived you about your generous Lord 6 Who created you proportionately and fashioned you 7 In whatever form He willed, He put you together. 8 No! But you deny the Recompense. 9 Surely, there are guardians watching over you, 10 watching over you 11 They know all that you do. 12 The pious will surely be in heaven, 13 and the libertines shall be in a fiery furnace 14 They will enter it on the Day of Justice. 15 And will not be removed from it. 16 And what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 17 Again, what will make you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 It is a Day whereon no soul shall own aught of power for any soul; and the command on that Day will be Allah's. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
