Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 When the planets are dispersed, 2 When the oceans begin to flow, 3 And when the [contents of] graves are scattered, 4 every human being will [at last] comprehend, what he has sent ahead and what he has held back [in this world]. 5 O human! What has deceived you concerning your Generous Lord 6 The One Who created you, then moulded you, then made you proper? 7 In whatever Form He wills, does He put thee together. 8 Nay, [O men,] but you [are lured away from God whenever you are tempted to] give the lie to [God's] Judgment! 9 Yet over you there are watchers, 10 Honourablel scribes. 11 and these honorable scribes know whatever you do. 12 the virtuous will dwell in bliss, 13 And verily the ungodly shall be in a Scorch. 14 They will [enter to] burn therein on the Day of Recompense, 15 and from it they shall never be absent. 16 And what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 17 Again would that you only knew how terrible it really is! 18 It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. 19
