Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the heaven splits open. 1 And when the stars shall be scattered, 2 And when the seas are made to flow forth, 3 when the graves are overturned, 4 everyone shall know all his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 5 O man! What hath made thee careless concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, 6 Who created thee, then moulded thee, then proportioned thee? 7 and composed thee after what form He would? 8 Even then you deny the Judgement. 9 but you should know that there are angelic guards 10 The honourable recorders. 11 They know what you do. 12 Behold, [in the life to come] the truly virtuous: will indeed be in bliss, 13 And verily the ungodly shall be in a Scorch. 14 They will enter it on the Day of Justice. 15 and which they shall not [be able to] evade. 16 How can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 17 Again, what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! 18 It is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allah. 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
