Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky breaks apart 1 And when the stars shall be scattered, 2 When the Oceans are suffered to burst forth; 3 when the graves are overturned, 4 Each soul will know what it had sent ahead and what it had left behind. 5 O man! what hath beguiled thee concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, 6 Who created you, shaped you, and made you well-proportioned, 7 Shaping you into any form He pleased? 8 Nay! but you give the lie to the judgment day, 9 And indeed there are some guardians over you. 10 Kiraman (honourable) Katibin writing down (your deeds). 11 and these honorable scribes know whatever you do. 12 Verily, the Abrar (pious and righteous) will be in delight (Paradise); 13 But the wicked, indeed they shall be in the Fiery Furnace, 14 which they shall enter on the Day of Judgement, 15 and then shall never come out of it. 16 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Doom? 17 Again would that you only knew how terrible it really is! 18 It will be a Day when no human being shall be of the least avail to any other human being, God [alone] will hold command on that Day. 19
