Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven shall be cleft, 1 And the stars dispersed, 2 When the Oceans are suffered to burst forth; 3 when the tombs are overthrown, 4 Each soul shall know that which it sent afore and that which it left behind. 5 O man! what has beguiled you from your Lord, the Gracious one, 6 Him Who created thee. Fashioned thee in due proportion, and gave thee a just bias; 7 He moulded you into whatever shape He willed. 8 No! But you deny the Recompense. 9 Yet over you there are watchers, 10 Kiraman (honourable) Katibin writing down (your deeds). 11 aware of whatever you do! 12 Most surely the righteous are in bliss, 13 and the libertines shall be in a fiery furnace 14 Which they will enter on the Day of Judgment, 15 nor shall they ever be absent from it. 16 And what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 17 Again would that you only knew how terrible it really is! 18 A day when no soul shall possess aught to succour another soul; that day the Command shall belong unto God. 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
