Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky breaks apart 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 When the Oceans are suffered to burst forth; 3 When the graves are overturned, 4 everyone shall know all his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 5 O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous, 6 who has created thee, and formed thee in accordance with what thou art meant' to be, and shaped thy nature in just proportions, 7 In whatsoever form He listed He constructed thee. 8 Nay, but ye deny the Judgment. 9 Yet over you there are watchers, 10 noble scribes, 11 who know of all that you do. 12 Lo! the righteous verily will be in delight. 13 and the libertines shall be in a fiery furnace 14 roasting therein on the Day of Doom, 15 And they shall by no means be absent from it. 16 What will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? 17 Again, what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! 18 (It will be) the Day when no person shall have power (to do) anything for another, and the Decision, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah. 19
