Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 when the planets are scattered, 2 when the seas are made to burst forth, 3 And when the graves are ransacked, 4 every human being will [at last] comprehend, what he has sent ahead and what he has held back [in this world]. 5 O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous, 6 Who created you then formed your symmetry, then gave you right proportion, 7 in whatever form He pleased? 8 Even then you deny the Judgement. 9 And yet, verily, there are ever-watchful forces over you, 10 noble, writers 11 Who know (all) that ye do. 12 Verily the pious shall be in Delight. 13 The wicked certainly in Hell: 14 They will enter it on the Day of Justice. 15 and from which they will find no escape. 16 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is! 17 Again: what will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? 18 A day when no soul shall possess aught to succour another soul; that day the Command shall belong unto God. 19

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
