Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the sky breaks apart 1 And when the stars become dispersed, 2 when the oceans are gushed forth, 3 when the tombs are overthrown, 4 the soul shall know what it has done, the former and the latter. 5 O human! What has deceived you concerning your Generous Lord 6 who created thee and shaped thee and wrought thee in symmetry 7 In whatever shape He will He could surely have fashioned you. 8 Nay! But you deny the Recompense (reward for good deeds and punishment for evil deeds). 9 Surely, there are guardians watching over you, 10 Kiraman (honourable) Katibin writing down (your deeds). 11 They know all that you do. 12 The pious will surely be in heaven, 13 and the libertines shall be in a fiery furnace 14 They will enter it on the Day of Justice. 15 And they will not be able to keep away therefrom. 16 And what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is? 17 Again, what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! 18 It is a Day whereon no soul shall own aught of power for any soul; and the command on that Day will be Allah's. 19
