Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder, 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 when the oceans are gushed forth, 3 And when the graves are overturned. 4 Every soul shall know what it has sent before and held back. 5 O MAN! What is it that lures thee away from thy bountiful Sustainer, 6 Who created thee, then moulded thee, then proportioned thee? 7 and composed thee after what form He would? 8 Nay! But ye do reject Right and Judgment! 9 But verily, over you (are appointed angels in charge of mankind) to watch you. 10 noble, recording, 11 aware of whatever you do! 12 the virtuous will dwell in bliss, 13 And most surely the wicked are in burning fire, 14 Which they will enter on the Day of Judgment, 15 And they (Al-Fujjar) will not be absent therefrom (i.e. will not go out from the Hell). 16 They will never be able to escape from it. Would that you knew what the Day of Judgment is! 17 Again, what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 18 It is a Day whereon no soul shall own aught of power for any soul; and the command on that Day will be Allah's. 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
