Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky breaks apart 1 and when the stars are scattered, 2 And when the seas are erupted 3 And the sepulchres are overturned, 4 then a soul shall know its works, the former and the latter. 5 O man! what has beguiled you from your Lord, the Gracious one, 6 who created you, formed you and proportioned you? 7 and composed thee after what form He would? 8 Nay! but you give the lie to the judgment day, 9 you do so the while there are watchers over you; 10 Honorable recorders, 11 They know (and understand) all that ye do. 12 Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure, 13 And indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire. 14 which they will enter on the Day of Judgment 15 and from which they will find no escape. 16 What will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? 17 Again, what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is? 18 A day on which no soul hath power at all for any (other) soul. The (absolute) command on that day is Allah's. 19
