Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder, 1 And when the stars shall be scattered, 2 And when the seas are burst forth (got dried up); 3 And when the [contents of] graves are scattered, 4 Every soul will come to know what it has sent ahead and what it left behind. 5 O man! What has deceived you about your generous Lord 6 Who created thee, then moulded thee, then proportioned thee? 7 In whatsoever form He listed He constructed thee. 8 Not at all – but rather you deny the establishment of Justice. 9 you do so the while there are watchers over you; 10 noble scribes 11 Who know (all) that ye do. 12 The pious will surely be in heaven, 13 And verily, the Fujjar (the wicked, disbelievers, sinners and evil-doers) will be in the blazing Fire (Hell), 14 [a fire] which they shall enter on Judgment Day, 15 and from it they shall never be absent. 16 How can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 17 Then, what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense? 18 It is the Day when no one shall have the power to do anything for another, and all command shall be Allah's. 19

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
