The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to Al-Mutaffifin [those who give less in measure and weight (decrease the rights of others)], 1 who, when people measure for them, take full measure, 2 but when they give by measurement or weight to others, they give them less. 3 Think they not that they will be resurrected (for reckoning), 4 For a tremendous Day - 5 A Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 Indeed, the record of the disbelievers is in the lowest place, the Sijjeen. 7 And what will make you know what Sijjin is? 8 A record of misdeeds written. 9 Woe on that day to the rejecters, 10 who cry lies to the Day of Doom; 11 And none will deny it, except every transgressor, rebel. 12 When Our verses are recited to him, he says: 'Fictitious tales of the ancients' 13 No. In fact what they have been doing has rusted their hearts. 14 On the Day of Judgment, they will certainly be barred from the mercy of their Lord. 15 Further, they will enter the Fire of Hell. 16 And it will be said (unto them): This is that which ye used to deny. 17 No! Indeed, the record of the righteous is in 'illiyyun. 18 And what will explain to thee what 'Illiyun is? 19 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 20 witnessed by those who are near (to Allah). 21 Lo! the righteous verily are in delight, 22 On adorned couches, observing. 23 You will recognise in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 They will be given pure wine out of sealed containers 25 pouring forth with a fragrance of musk. To that [wine of paradise,] then, let all such aspire as [are willing to] aspire to things of high account: 26 a wine tempered with the waters of Tasnim, 27 a fountain at which those brought near (to their Lord) drink. 28 Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. 29 when they passed by them they winked, 30 And when they returned to their own people, they would return jesting; 31 And when they saw them, they said: Most surely these are in error; 32 Yet they were not sent as watchers over them. 33 So this day it is the believers who laugh at the disbelievers. 34 as they sit on couches, gazing around. 35 Surely the disbelievers are rewarded as they did. 36
