The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Woe to those who give less [than due], 1 those who, when they are to receive their due from [other] people, demand that it be given in full 2 But if they measure unto them or weight for them, they cause them loss. 3 Think they not that they will be resurrected (for reckoning), 4 unto a mighty day 5 a day when mankind shall stand before the Lord of all Being? 6 No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen. 7 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Sijjin is? 8 It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed. 9 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies, 10 who belied the Day of Recompense! 11 And none can deny it but the Transgressor beyond bounds the Sinner! 12 Who, when thou readest unto him Our revelations, saith: (Mere) fables of the men of old. 13 They will never have faith. In fact, their hearts are stained from their deeds. 14 No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned. 15 Then, verily they will indeed enter and taste the burning flame of Hell. 16 and they will be told, "This is what you were wont to belie." 17 Indeed the record of the virtuous is in the highest place, the Illiyin. 18 Would that you knew what Illiyin is! 19 The record is a sealed text. 20 which those angels closest to God will bear witness to. 21 Truly the Righteous will be in Bliss: 22 On adorned couches, observing. 23 and in their faces you shall know the radiance of bliss. 24 They will be given to drink [pure] wine [which was] sealed. 25 pouring forth with a fragrance of musk. To that [wine of paradise,] then, let all such aspire as [are willing to] aspire to things of high account: 26 a wine tempered with the waters of Tasnim, 27 A spring whereof drink those nearest to Allah. 28 Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. 29 when them passed them by winking at one another, 30 And when they returned to their household they returned jesting. 31 And when they saw them, they said: Most surely these are in error; 32 Whereas they have not at all been sent as guardians over them. 33 So Today those who believed are laughing at the disbelievers, 34 On Thrones (of Dignity) they will command (a sight) (of all things). 35 The infidels have indeed been rewarded for that which they had been doing. 36
