The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Woe to those that deal in fraud,- 1 those who demand a full measure from others 2 but, when they measure for them or weigh for them, do skimp. 3 Do they not think they will be raised (to life) again 4 on a fateful Day. 5 The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 Woe to them! Let them know that the records of the sinner's deeds are in Sijin. 7 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Sijjin is? 8 It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed. 9 Woe, that Day, to those who deny [(Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Day of Resurrection, and Al-Qadar (Divine Preordainments)]. 10 those that give the lie to the Day of Recompense. 11 And none deny it except every sinful transgressor. 12 When our signs are recited to him, he says, 'Fairy-tales of the ancients!' 13 Nay! But on their hearts is the Ran (covering of sins and evil deeds) which they used to earn. 14 No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned. 15 Then verily they will be roasted into the Scorch. 16 And it will be said (unto them): This is that which ye used to deny. 17 Indeed the record of the virtuous is in the highest place, the Illiyin. 18 And what can make you know what is 'illiyyun? 19 It is a Book inscribed, 20 The ones nearest to God will bring it to public. 21 The righteous shall indeed be blissful, 22 On thrones, watching. 23 You will recognize in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be given a drink of pure wine, sealed, 25 whose seal is musk – so let all aspirants aspire after that – 26 With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim: 27 a fountain at which the chosen ones shall drink. 28 The wicked used to laugh at the believers -- 29 When passing by them, they would wink at one another 30 and when they returned to their own people, they would speak of them jestingly; 31 And when they saw them, they would say, "Indeed, those are truly lost." 32 Whereas they were not sent over them as watchers. 33 So today those who believe shall laugh at the unbelievers; 34 On high couches, gazing. 35 Have the disbelievers [not] been rewarded [this Day] for what they used to do? 36
