The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Woe to those that deal in fraud,- 1 Who, when they take the measure (of their dues) from men take it fully, 2 And when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. 3 Do they not realize that they will be resurrected 4 on a fateful Day. 5 The Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)? 6 Nay! Surely the record of the wicked is (preserved) in Sijjin. 7 And what can make you know what is sijjeen? 8 It is a (repository of) distinctly written record. 9 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 10 those who deny the Day of Judgement. 11 And none will deny it, except every transgressor, rebel. 12 When Our verses are recited to him, he says: 'Fictitious tales of the ancients' 13 No indeed! The truth is that their hearts have become rusted on account of their evil deeds. 14 Therefore they will be screened off from their Lord that day, 15 Then most surely they shall enter the burning fire. 16 Then shall it be said: This is what you gave the lie to. 17 No indeed; the book of the pious is in Illiyun; 18 And what do you know what the Record of the exalted ones is? 19 (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed, 20 Attested by those who are brought near (unto their Lord). 21 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 22 On Thrones (of Dignity) will they command a sight (of all things): 23 Thou wilt recognize in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 They will be given a drink of pure wine, sealed, 25 The last of it is musk. So for this let the competitors compete. 26 And its mixture is of Tasneem, 27 a fountain at which the chosen ones shall drink. 28 Verily those who have sinned were wont at those who had believed to laugh, 29 And when they passed by them, they would exchange derisive glances. 30 And when they went back to their people turned to make fun of them; 31 And whenever they saw them, they would say, "Behold! These are the people truly astray!" 32 Whereas they have not at all been sent as guardians over them. 33 So, the believers will laugh at the infidels on that day, 34 Regarding them from their cushioned seats. 35 Have the disbelievers [not] been rewarded [this Day] for what they used to do? 36
