The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Woe to the stinters who, 1 Who, when they take the measure (of their dues) from men take it fully, 2 but, when they measure for them or weigh for them, do skimp. 3 Do they not know that they are bound to be raised from the dead 4 On a grievous day, 5 The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 No indeed, the Book of the immoral is in Sijjeen. 7 Would that you knew what Sijin is!? 8 A record [indelibly] inscribed! 9 Woe, on that day, to those who have rejected God's revelations 10 who cry lies to the Day of Doom; 11 and none cries lies to it but every guilty aggressor. 12 When Our communications are recited to him, he says: Stories of those of yore. 13 They will never have faith. In fact, their hearts are stained from their deeds. 14 On the Day of Judgment, they will certainly be barred from the mercy of their Lord. 15 Then, verily they will indeed enter and taste the burning flame of Hell. 16 and they will be told, "This is what you were wont to belie." 17 By no means! Verily the record of the virtuous shall be in 'Illiyun. 18 Would that you knew what Illiyin is! 19 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 20 which those angels closest to God will bear witness to. 21 Verily the virtuous shall be in Bliss; 22 On adorned couches, observing. 23 You will find in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be given to drink of pure wine, sealed. 25 The seal thereof will be of musk. And to this end let the aspirers aspire 26 It (that wine) will be mixed with Tasnim. 27 A spring whence those brought near (to Allah) drink. 28 The wicked used to laugh at the believers -- 29 And winked at one another as they passed by them; 30 When they returned to their people they returned jesting; 31 and when they saw them they said, 'Lo, these men are astray!' 32 Whereas they have not at all been sent as guardians over them. 33 This day it is those who believe who have the laugh of disbelievers, 34 On thrones, they will look. 35 Have the unbelievers been rewarded what they were doing? 36
