The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Woe to those that deal in fraud,- 1 those who demand a full measure from others 2 And when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. 3 Do not these think that they shall be raised again 4 on a fateful Day. 5 The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 By no means! Verily the record of the ungodly is in Sijjin. 7 And what could make thee conceive what that that mode inescapable will be? 8 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 9 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies, 10 who belied the Day of Recompense! 11 And none will deny it, except every transgressor, rebel. 12 When Our communications are recited to him, he says: Stories of those of yore. 13 No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning. 14 Nay! most surely they shall on that day be debarred from their Lord. 15 Further, they will enter the Fire of Hell. 16 and it will be said to them: 'This is that which you belied' 17 Nay, verily the record of the Righteous is (preserved) in 'Illiyin. 18 And what will explain to thee what 'Illiyun is? 19 (It is) a marked Book, 20 which those angels closest to God will bear witness to. 21 Lo! the righteous verily are in delight, 22 [resting on couches, they will look up [to God]: 23 You will recognise in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 They will be given to drink pure sealed wine. 25 its seal will be of musk -- for this let the aspirants aspire -- 26 And it is mixed with Tasneem. 27 A fountain from which drink they who are drawn near (to Allah). 28 BEHOLD, those who have abandoned themselves to sin are wont to laugh at such as have attained to faith 29 And when they passed by them, they winked at one another. 30 And when they returned to their own followers they returned exulting. 31 And whenever they saw them, they would say, "Behold! These are the people truly astray!" 32 Whereas they were not sent over them as watchers. 33 So today those who believe shall laugh at the unbelievers; 34 On high couches, gazing. 35 Have the unbelievers been rewarded what they were doing? 36
