The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe unto the defrauders: 1 Those who, when they take by measure from mankind, exact the full, 2 Whilst when they measure or weigh for them, give less. 3 Do they not know that they are bound to be raised from the dead 4 For a tremendous Day - 5 The Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)? 6 Indeed, the record of the disbelievers is in the lowest place, the Sijjeen. 7 And what do you know, how (wretched) the Sijjeen is! 8 (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed. 9 Woe, on that day, to those who have rejected God's revelations 10 those that give the lie to the Day of Recompense. 11 No one rejects it except the sinful transgressors 12 And when Our revelations are rehearsed unto him, he saith: fables of the ancients! 13 Nay! But on their hearts is the Ran (covering of sins and evil deeds) which they used to earn. 14 Nay! most surely they shall on that day be debarred from their Lord. 15 Then they shall roast in Hell, 16 And it will be said (unto them): This is that which ye used to deny. 17 No indeed! Verily, the deeds of the virtuous shall be in the record of the exalted ones. 18 And what could make thee conceive what that mode most lofty will be? 19 The record is a sealed text. 20 Witnessed by those who are honoured. 21 The righteous shall indeed be blissful, 22 seated on couches and gazing around in wonder. 23 and in their faces you shall know the radiance of bliss. 24 They will be given to drink pure sealed wine. 25 its seal is musk, for this let the competitors compete; 26 And mixed with water of Tasnim, 27 The spring from which drink the ones close to Allah. 28 Verily! (During the worldly life) those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. 29 When passing by them, they would wink at one another 30 And when they returned to their own people, they would return jesting; 31 And when they saw them, they said: verily these are the strayed ones. 32 But they had not been sent as guardians over them. 33 But today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers; 34 as they sit on couches, gazing around. 35 Are not the disbelievers paid for what they used to do? 36
