The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to those who give short measure, 1 Those who when they take the measure from mankind demand it full, 2 But if they measure unto them or weight for them, they cause them loss. 3 Do they not think that they will be resurrected 4 On a Great Day, 5 The day when (all) mankind stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 Nay, but the record of the vile is in Sijjin - 7 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Sijjin is? 8 It is a (repository of) distinctly written record. 9 Woe, on that day, to those who have rejected God's revelations 10 those who deny the Day of Judgement. 11 And none will deny it, except every transgressor, rebel. 12 When Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to him he says: "Tales of the ancients!" 13 By no means! but on their hearts is the stain of the (ill) which they do! 14 No indeed, on that Day they shall be veiled from their Lord. 15 Then lo! they verily will burn in hell, 16 Then it will be said [to them], "This is what you used to deny." 17 Nay! Verily, the Record (writing of the deeds) of Al-Abrar (the pious who fear Allah and avoid evil), is (preserved) in 'Illiyyun. 18 Would that you knew what Illiyin is! 19 (It is) a marked Book, 20 which the angels placed near Allah to safeguard. 21 Truly the Righteous will be in Bliss: 22 On Thrones (of Dignity) will they command a sight (of all things): 23 You can trace on their faces the joy of their bliss. 24 They will be given pure wine out of sealed containers 25 Its seal is upon musk; and for this should those who crave be eager. 26 And it is mixed with Tasneem. 27 A spring, from (the waters) whereof drink those Nearest to Allah. 28 Those in sin used to laugh at those who believed, 29 when they passed by them, they would wink at one another; 30 and when they returned to their people they returned blithely, 31 And when they saw them, they said: Most surely these are in error; 32 But they had not been sent as keepers over them! 33 So today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers, 34 Reclining on couches, looking on. 35 Are not the disbelievers paid for what they used to do? 36
