The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Woe to the stinters; 1 Who, when they take the measure (of their dues) from men take it fully, 2 Whilst when they measure or weigh for them, give less. 3 Do they not know that they are bound to be raised from the dead 4 On a Great Day, 5 when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 Indeed! The record of the wicked is in the Sijjin -- 7 What could let you know what the Sijjeen is! 8 The record is a sealed text. 9 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 10 Who call the Day of judgement a lie! 11 No one denies it except for the evil aggressor. 12 When Our Signs are rehearsed to him, he says, "Tales of the ancients!" 13 By no means! Aye! encrusted upon their hearts is that which they have been earning. 14 By no means! Verily on that Day from their Lord they will be shut out. 15 and then they shall enter Hell, 16 and they will be told, "This is what you were wont to belie." 17 No indeed! Verily, the deeds of the virtuous shall be in the record of the exalted ones. 18 and what shall teach thee what is Illiyun? 19 A written record, 20 Which is witnessed by those brought near [to Allah]. 21 The virtuous will surely be in bliss, 22 (reclining) upon couches they will gaze, 23 You shall see upon their faces the glow of bliss. 24 They will be given to drink [pure] wine [which was] sealed. 25 The seal thereof will be of musk. And to this end let the aspirers aspire 26 And its mixture is of Tasneem, 27 The spring from which drink the ones close to Allah. 28 Lo! the guilty used to laugh at those who believed, 29 And whenever they passed by them, used to wink at each other (in mockery); 30 And when they returned to their own followers they returned exulting. 31 and when they saw them they said, 'Lo, these men are astray!' 32 Whereas they were not sent over them as watchers. 33 But this Day (the Day of Resurrection) those who believe will laugh at the disbelievers 34 On high thrones, watching. 35 Will not the Unbelievers have been paid back for what they did? 36
