The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
WOE UNTO THOSE who give short measure: 1 those who, when they are to receive their due from [other] people, demand that it be given in full 2 but when they have to measure or weigh whatever they owe to others, give less than what is due! 3 Do they not think they will be raised (to life) again 4 On a grievous day, 5 a Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 Indeed the ledger of the wicked will be in (the lowest depths) Sijjin. 7 Would that you knew what Sijin is!? 8 (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed. 9 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 10 Who call the Day of judgement a lie! 11 And none deny it except every sinful transgressor. 12 When Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to him he says: "Tales of the ancients!" 13 Nay, but their hearts are corroded by all [the evil] that they were wont to do! 14 On the Day of Judgment, they will certainly be barred from the mercy of their Lord. 15 Further, they will enter the Fire of Hell. 16 Then shall it be said: This is what you gave the lie to. 17 But, the Book of the righteous is in the 'Illiyoon. 18 But how will you comprehend what 'Illiyun is? 19 The record is a sealed text. 20 witnessed by those who are near (to Allah). 21 Verily the virtuous shall be in Bliss; 22 On couches, gazing, 23 You will recognize in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They shall be given to drink of a wine that is sealed, 25 With a sealing of musk, which those who aspire for the best should desire, -- 26 Blended with the water of Tasnim, (heights ultimate of evolution), 27 A fountain whereof will drink those brought nigh. 28 Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. 29 And wink one to another when they passed them; 30 And when they returned to their people, they would return jesting. 31 and when they saw the believers, they said: “Lo! These are the erring ones”; 32 Yet they were not sent as guardians over them. 33 But today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers; 34 Reclining on couches, looking on. 35 Did not the disbelievers get repaid for what they used to do? 36
