The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to the stinters who, 1 Who, when they take a measure from people, take in full. 2 But when they measure out to others or weigh out for them, they are deficient. 3 Do such (men) not consider that they will be raised again 4 on a fateful Day. 5 A Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 Nay, but the record of the vile is in Sijjin - 7 And what can make you know what is sijjeen? 8 (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed. 9 Woe, that Day, to those who deny [(Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Day of Resurrection, and Al-Qadar (Divine Preordainments)]. 10 those who deny the Day of Judgement. 11 None denies it but the sinful transgressors. 12 And when Our revelations are rehearsed unto him, he saith: fables of the ancients! 13 No! Their own deeds have cast a veil over their hearts. 14 Verily, from (the Light of) their Lord, that Day, will they be veiled. 15 Then lo! they verily will burn in hell, 16 Then it will be said [to them], "This is what you used to deny." 17 No indeed; the book of the pious is in Illiyun; 18 And what will make you know what 'Illiyyun is? 19 A written record, 20 Those who are drawn near (to Allah) shall witness it. 21 Verily the virtuous shall be in Bliss; 22 [resting on couches, they will look up [to God]: 23 You will recognize in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They are given to drink of a pure wine, sealed, 25 whose seal is musk -- so after that let the strivers strive -- 26 With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim: 27 a spring at which those drawn close to God will drink. 28 The sinners laughed at the believers 29 when they passed by them they winked, 30 and, on returning to their people, boast about what they had done. 31 And when they saw them they said: Lo! these have gone astray. 32 though they were not sent to be their keepers -- 33 So this day it is the believers who laugh at the disbelievers. 34 as they (recline) upon their couches and gaze (around them). 35 Surely the disbelievers are rewarded as they did. 36
