The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Ruin is for the defrauders. 1 those who, when they take from others by measure, take their full share; 2 but when they measure or weigh for others, they reduce! 3 Do such (men) not consider that they will be raised again 4 To be raised for a Great Day? 5 The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 Nay! Truly, the Record (writing of the deeds) of the Fujjar (disbelievers, sinners, evil-doers and wicked) is (preserved) in Sijjin. 7 And what will explain to thee what Sijjin is? 8 It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed. 9 Woe, then, to those that give the lie, 10 Those who belie the Day of Requital. 11 Yet none gives the lie to it except the transgressor immersed in sin; 12 When Our revelations are conveyed to him, he says, "Fables of the ancients!" 13 No. In fact what they have been doing has rusted their hearts. 14 Indeed! On that Day a barrier will be set between them and their Lord, 15 Then indeed, they will [enter and] burn in Hellfire. 16 They will then be told: "This is what you had denied." 17 Nay, but the record of the righteous is in 'Illiyin - 18 And what can make you know what is 'illiyyun? 19 It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed 20 which the angels placed near Allah to safeguard. 21 Most surely the righteous shall be in bliss, 22 On couches, gazing, 23 On their faces you will see the glow of beatitude. 24 They shall be given to drink of a wine that is sealed, 25 With a sealing of musk, which those who aspire for the best should desire, -- 26 And its mixture is of Tasneem, 27 a fountain at which those brought near (to their Lord) drink. 28 The wicked used to laugh at the believers -- 29 and winked at one another as they passed them by. 30 And whilst returning to their homes, they used to return rejoicing. 31 and when they saw them said: 'These are they who are astray' 32 though they were not sent to be their keepers -- 33 So, the believers will laugh at the infidels on that day, 34 Regarding them from their cushioned seats. 35 Will not the Unbelievers have been paid back for what they did? 36
