The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Ruin is for the defrauders. (Those who measure less.) 1 Those who when they take the measure from others, take it in full! 2 but, when they measure for them or weigh for them, do skimp. 3 Do they not know that they are bound to be raised from the dead 4 On a Great Day, 5 The day on which men shall stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 Indeed! The record of the wicked is in the Sijjin -- 7 And what could make thee conceive what that that mode inescapable will be? 8 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 9 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 10 those who deny the Day of Judgement. 11 and none cries lies to it but every guilty aggressor. 12 When our signs are recited to him, he says, 'Fairy-tales of the ancients!' 13 Nay, but their hearts are corroded by all [the evil] that they were wont to do! 14 By no means! Verily on that Day from their Lord they will be shut out. 15 They will suffer the heat of fire 16 Then it will be said [to them], "This is what you used to deny." 17 Nay, but the record of the righteous is in 'Illiyin - 18 And what will explain to thee what 'Illiyun is? 19 A book inscribed, 20 To which bear witness those nearest (to Allah, i.e. the angels). 21 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 22 On thrones, they shall gaze; 23 You will recognize in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be given a drink of pure wine, sealed, 25 Its seal is upon musk; and for this should those who crave be eager. 26 With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim: 27 A spring whence those brought near (to Allah) drink. 28 Behold, the sinners were laughing at the believers, 29 And whenever they passed by them, used to wink at each other (in mockery); 30 and when they returned to their own people, they would speak of them jestingly; 31 And upon seeing the Muslims, they used to say, “Indeed they have gone astray.” 32 But they were not Sent to be guardians over them! 33 But this Day (the Day of Resurrection) those who believe will laugh at the disbelievers 34 On (high) thrones, looking (at all things). 35 Will not the Unbelievers have been paid back for what they did? 36
