The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Ruin is for the defrauders. (Those who measure less.) 1 those who demand a full measure from others 2 And when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. 3 Do they not realize that they will be resurrected 4 [and called to account] on an awesome Day 5 The day all mankind will stand before the Lord of all the worlds? 6 Nay, but the record of the vile is in Sijjin - 7 Would that you knew what Sijin is!? 8 A book inscribed. 9 Woe, that Day, to those that deny- 10 Those who deny the Day of Justice. 11 And none belieth it save each trespasser, sinner. 12 When Our verses are recited to him, he says: 'Fictitious tales of the ancients' 13 Nay, but that which they have earned is rust upon their hearts. 14 By no means! Verily on that Day from their Lord they will be shut out. 15 They will suffer the heat of fire 16 and who will be told, "This is what you had called a lie". 17 Nay, verily the record of the Righteous is (preserved) in 'Illiyin. 18 And what could make thee conceive what that mode most lofty will be? 19 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 20 To which bear witness those Nearest (to Allah). 21 The righteous shall indeed be blissful, 22 (reclining) upon couches they will gaze, 23 You will find in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be given a drink of pure wine, sealed, 25 The last thereof (that wine) will be the smell of musk, and for this let (all) those strive who want to strive (i.e. hasten earnestly to the obedience of Allah). 26 With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim: 27 A spring whereof drink those nearest to Allah. 28 Surely they who are guilty used to laugh at those who believe. 29 when they passed by them, they would wink at one another; 30 And when they went back to their people turned to make fun of them; 31 and when they saw them they said, 'Lo, these men are astray!' 32 But they were not Sent to be guardians over them! 33 So today those who believe shall laugh at the unbelievers; 34 On high couches, gazing. 35 Have those who deny the truth [not] been paid back for their deeds? 36
