The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Woe to those who are fraudulent in (weighing and measuring), 1 those who, when they are to receive their due from [other] people, demand that it be given in full 2 And when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. 3 Imagine such men not that they shall be raised up? 4 On a Mighty Day, 5 A Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 No indeed, the Book of the immoral is in Sijjeen. 7 How will you comprehend what Sijjin is? 8 The record is a sealed text. 9 Woe, that Day, to those that deny- 10 Those who deny the Day of Justice. 11 No one denies it except for the evil aggressor. 12 who, when Our verses are recited to him, says: “Mere tales of olden times!” 13 No. In fact what they have been doing has rusted their hearts. 14 Nay, verily, from [the grace of] their Sustainer shall they on that Day be debarred; 15 then they shall roast in Hell. 16 Then shall it be said: This is what you gave the lie to. 17 By no means! Verily the record of the virtuous shall be in 'Illiyun. 18 And what do you know what the Record of the exalted ones is? 19 A written record, 20 Attested by those who are brought near (unto their Lord). 21 Behold, [in the life to come] the truly virtuous will indeed be in bliss: 22 On couches face to face. 23 You shall see upon their faces the glow of bliss. 24 They are made to quaff of a pure drink that is sealed (to others). 25 The sealing of it is (with) musk; and for that let the aspirers aspire. 26 And it is mixed with Tasneem. 27 a source [of bliss] whereof those who are drawn close unto God shall drink. 28 Behold, the sinners were laughing at the believers, 29 And winked at one another as they passed by them; 30 and when they went back to their families, they went back jesting, 31 On seeing the believers, they would say, "These people have gone astray". 32 No one has appointed them to watch over the believers. 33 But today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers; 34 On high thrones, watching. 35 Are not the disbelievers paid (fully) for what they used to do? 36
