The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Woe to those who are fraudulent in (weighing and measuring), 1 Who insist on being given full when they take from others, 2 And who, when they measure unto them or weigh for them, diminish. 3 Do they not realize that they will be resurrected 4 [and called to account] on an awesome Day 5 A Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 NAY, VERILY, the record of the wicked is indeed [set down] in a mode inescapable! 7 And how would you know what the Record of the prison-house is? 8 A written record. 9 Woe on that Day to those who belied it, 10 those that give the lie to the Day of Recompense. 11 And none deny it except every sinful transgressor. 12 When Our revelations are recited before him, he says: "These are fables of long ago." 13 Nay, but that which they have earned is rust upon their hearts. 14 No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned. 15 Then most surely they shall enter the burning fire. 16 and they will be told, "This is what you were wont to belie." 17 NAY, VERILY - the record of the truly virtuous is [set down] in a mode most lofty! 18 And what will explain to thee what 'Illiyun is? 19 (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed, 20 Which is witnessed by the close ones. 21 Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure 22 [resting on couches, they will look up [to God]: 23 thou knowest in their faces the radiancy of bliss 24 They will be given pure wine to drink, which is kept preserved, sealed. 25 The sealing of it is (with) musk; and for that let the aspirers aspire. 26 and whose mixture is Tasnim, 27 A fountain from which drink they who are drawn near (to Allah). 28 Indeed the guilty used to laugh at the believers. 29 And whenever they passed by them, used to wink at each other (in mockery); 30 And when they went back to their people turned to make fun of them; 31 and when they saw them they said, 'Lo, these men are astray!' 32 Yet they were not sent as guardians over them. 33 But on this Day the believers will laugh at the unbelievers 34 Regarding them from their cushioned seats. 35 Have the unbelievers been rewarded for what they did? 36
