The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Woe to those that deal in fraud,- 1 those who demand a full measure from others 2 But when they measure out to others or weigh out for them, they are deficient. 3 Do they not think they will be raised (to life) again 4 On a grievous day, 5 The day on which men shall stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 Indeed the ledger of the wicked will be in (the lowest depths) Sijjin. 7 And what will explain to thee what Sijjin is? 8 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 9 Woe on that Day unto the beliers 10 Those who deny the Day of Justice. 11 And none belieth it save each trespasser, sinner. 12 who, when Our verses are recited to him, says: “Mere tales of olden times!” 13 Nay, but that which they have earned is rust upon their hearts. 14 Yes indeed – they will be deprived of seeing their Lord on that day. 15 then they shall roast in Hell. 16 Then shall it be said: This is what you gave the lie to. 17 Indeed the record of the virtuous is in the highest place, the Illiyin. 18 Would that you knew what Illiyin is! 19 It is a Book inscribed, 20 Those who are drawn near (to Allah) shall witness it. 21 The virtuous will surely be in bliss, 22 upon couches gazing; 23 and in their faces you shall know the radiance of bliss. 24 They are given to drink of a pure wine, sealed, 25 Whose seal is musk - for this let (all) those strive who strive for bliss - 26 And its mixture is of Tasneem, 27 A fountain whereof will drink those brought nigh. 28 Surely they who are guilty used to laugh at those who believe. 29 and whenever they pass by them, they wink at one another [derisively]; 30 And when they went back to their people turned to make fun of them; 31 and when they saw them they said, 'Lo, these men are astray!' 32 Yet they were not sent to be their guardians. 33 But on this Day the believers will laugh at the unbelievers 34 [for, resting in paradise] on couches, they will look on [and say to themselves]: 35 Have those who deny the truth [not] been paid back for their deeds? 36
