The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
36 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Spider (Al-Ankaboot) before The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Woe unto the defrauders: 1 Those who, when they take by measure from mankind, exact the full, 2 but, when they measure for them or weigh for them, do skimp. 3 Do they not know that they are bound to be raised from the dead 4 for a great Day, 5 when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 No indeed, the Book of the immoral is in Sijjeen. 7 Would that you knew what Sijin is!? 8 The record is a sealed text. 9 Woe, then, to those that give the lie, 10 who cry lies to the Day of Doom; 11 And none belieth it save each trespasser, sinner. 12 who, when Our verses are recited to him, says: “Mere tales of olden times!” 13 Nay! rather, what they used to do has become like rust upon their hearts. 14 No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned. 15 and then they shall enter Hell, 16 Then it shall be said to them, 'This is that you cried lies to.' 17 Nay! Most surely the record of the righteous shall be in the Iliyin. 18 And what do you know what the Illiyoon are! 19 The record is a sealed text. 20 which the angels placed near Allah to safeguard. 21 Behold, [in the life to come] the truly virtuous will indeed be in bliss: 22 On thrones, they shall gaze; 23 You can trace on their faces the joy of their bliss. 24 They will be given to drink of pure wine, sealed. 25 Its seal is upon musk; and for this should those who crave be eager. 26 and its mixture is Tasneem, 27 A fountain from which drink they who are drawn near (to Allah). 28 Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. 29 when they passed by them, they would wink at one another; 30 And when they returned to their household they returned jesting. 31 And when they saw them, they said: "They have indeed gone astray." 32 Whereas they were not sent over them as watchers. 33 But on this Day the Believers will laugh at the Unbelievers: 34 Reclining on couches, looking on. 35 "Are these deniers of the truth being [thus] requited for [aught but] what they were wont to do?" 36
God the Almighty always says the truth.
